One book I seriously wish I had read when I first started working in Canada is Matt Adolphe’s Canadian Workplace Culture: Mastering the Unspoken Rules.
As an immigrant juggling culture shock, a new system, and everything else life throws your way, understanding the workplace culture in a new country is so important especially when it comes to the indirect communication.
This book is a valuable resource I highly recommend to any professional in Canada. In ten chapters, the author breaks down key rules around communication, networking, teamwork, diplomacy and other practical advice to help professionals integrate, grow, and thrive.

While this book provides a good foundation in my opinion, Canadian workplaces like any other are dynamic and always evolving. Think of this book as your beginner’s toolkit. The key is to stay curious, observe, adapt, learn and unlearn but most importantly evolve.
